NHS SELECTION PROCESS :

Only Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are eligible for National Honor Society.
Students must have attended Buchholz for at least one semester. Students must have a 3.5 unweighted G.P.A..
Student must return a completed application form.
Faculty Council is appointed by the principal, no administrators or the NHS sponsor may serve on the council.

WHAT IS USED TO DETERMINE MEMBERSHIP?

Students must show evidence of service.
Students must show involvement in extracurricular activities at BHS.
Students must receive no more than 2 negative teacher evaluations.
Students must not have any Level III or IV dean referrals or referrals for fighting.

REQUIREMENTS :

Each semester you must:
    tutor at least one hour.
    attend at least two meetings.

SERVICE PROJECTS FOR NHS :

Over 300 hours tutoring.
Run KMO - Knowledge Masters Open (Academic competition in the fall and spring)
Run Intramural brain bowl competition for all the clubs in the winter.
Run a teacher vs. student Brain Bowl competition.
