SECME Science, Engineering, Communications, Math, Excellence:  SECME is a co-curricular academic club dedicated to increasing the numbers of minorities in the engineering professions.  Participation at Buchholz is broad-based and involves many success-oriented minority students who are committed to educational excellence and self improvement.  Activities include weekly after school meetings, tutoring, competition with other SECME groups (at the county, regional, and national levels). field trips, fundraising, and an end of the year banquet.  Requirements include a 2.5 GPA, enrollment in college preparatory courses, a willingness to learn about engineering/math/science related careers, willingness to assist other SECME students.  To join-contact the sponsors.
